The original Calibre 321, as found in all Speedmaster watches until the introduction of the calibre 861 in 1968 In 1941, Lemania produced the 27 CHRO C12, the ancestor of Omega’s calibre 321 that was, and still is, recognised as one the best and most beautiful hand-wound chronograph movements ever produced. ![]() Renowned for its outstanding watch movements, in particular chronographs, stopwatches and repeaters, Lemania once provided chronograph calibres for the big names in watchmaking. The first watch graced with the revered hand-wound column-wheel chronograph was the high-end Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Platinum followed a year later by a steel model, the Moonwatch Calibre 321 (which we named “The Ultimate Speedmaster”). For countless fans of the Speedmaster, Omega’s announcement in 2019 that it would be resuscitating its legendary Calibre 321 was as exciting as the Moon landing.
